Why? SOLUTION SOLUTION 01 Element Y and Z React together to form Covalent Compounds. Because Element Y has 6 Valence electronic in outermost shell and so it needs to gain 2 more electron to form compounds and Element Z has 7 Valence electronic in outermost shell and so it needs to gain 1 electron to stable. Thus Element Y and Z both want to gain electrons, they can share electrons with others to form covalent bonds. Argon (S) is a noble gas. Noble gases  are inert elements that form neither ionic nor covalent bonds. Oxygen (P) and Chlorine (R) accept electrons to form ionic as well as covalent bonds.
